Hi Everyone,

I enjoyed your smiles, support, and simply the times we all shared together. I know this school year ended in a way no one could have predicted and most of us are at a loss. But I do not consider everything a loss-- I had half a school year with some amazing kids and supporters. I want to thank you an congratulate you all.

Just keep swimming! -Casey Taylor Hey there everyone! We made it through another digital week! It is getting close to summer, just one month left of digital school! You will notice that I put in the grade for the quizizz on Monday 4/26. If your student has not completed it they still can. Let me know that they completed it—I do not go back every single day and check for new answers—it is like late work. I will still take it, but being notified assists me in getting your grade in promptly. 😊 The code is at the bottom. This coming week we are finishing the SE Asia History standards and taking a test then we will begin working on our Financial Literacy Unit. Monday students should finish the choice board project (they need to complete 2 of the assignments on the board and email them to me), Tuesday they are studying to the test and completing the study guide. Wednesday they will be completing the test and doing USA Test prep if they get less than a 70%. And Thursday they will take notes on financial terms and concepts. Thanks again for all that you do. Keep up the great work. And don’t forget to catch a little sunshine, drink lots of water, wash your hands, and REST! Thanks for your flexibility and support, Casey Taylor Welcome back from Spring Break! I hope you are all rested up, we are almost through this! Again, we are so proud of our students and parents as you remain flexible and hard-working during our digital learning.
This coming week we are finishing up our history unit that we started on. There will be a ZOOM meeting on Tuesday at 1:15 pm. We will also be watching some videos on specific events in China's history. I just wanted to add here what our principal said about the remainder of this school year: Grading By continuing digital learning studies, students not only have the opportunity to help make sure they will be more successful the upcoming school year, but also they will have the opportunity to improve their grades. Grade wise, students’ grade will reflect, at a minimum, what was posted on the students third quarter report card and will not go any lower. Although, all grades will be converted in the fourth quarter to a pass or fail, the higher the numeric grade a student has earned between the third and fourth quarters, the better the numeric grade will be for the semester. This could help students with Honor Roll, Principal’s Honor Roll, Wall of Honor, and course placements for next year. Modifications Effective Monday, April 13, 2020, the following guidelines are being implemented at our CCSD school:
David Nelson, Principal Pine Mountain Middle School 2019 Best of Cobb Public Middle School Visit our website to learn more about our school and how we prepare students for high school success! Congrats! You have made it to spring break! C-E-L-E-B-R-A-T-E the week off of digital learning. 😊 Please remember at this time there will be no assignments April 6-10th. Also, let’s make sure that we all continue to honor the social distancing at this time. That means staying home and with our families. Not going to hang out with friends or meeting up in neighborhoods. Please let’s take this time seriously and stay safe. Thanks again for all that you do.
