Wow, you guys did it again. Another week of Digital Learning with your student(s). I am so proud of all of you that have been diligent and keeping up with school. Parents—you all are the real MVPs! I am so thankful for all of your hard work. Please continue to keep your families safe during quarantine. Please stay inside, practice social distancing, and good hygiene. Take care of your mental health. Exercise, get some sun, eat well, and do something fun. This coming week of Digital Learning we will be moving to our government unit of SE Asia . First, on Monday students will be using USA Test prep to recover their test grades from Friday. Tuesday they will take notes and then do an assignment of USA Test Prep. Wednesday, students will read and take notes and complete a Quizizz. Thursday students will work on a study guide and do a practice Quizizz. Friday, students will take the test on Quizizz. Spring Break is right around the corner-- there will be no work over the break. :) Enjoy time with the family. Thanks again for all of your patience and hard work. We are all in this together. You got this! I am so proud of you all! Parents and students alike. We made it through a week of digital learning! Pat yourselves on the back. You were flexible and you were creative. You made things work. Thank you!
Due to the digital learning, I am pausing our history unit in hopes that we will meet again in person because it is more important to discuss history. As for this coming week, this is what is coming in a snapshot. We will start our SE Asia economics unit. Monday we will take notes and a short assessment on USA test Prep. Tuesday we will take notes and then engage in a conversation with our peers on Padlet. Wednesday there is a PDF, notes, and a quizizz. Thursday there is a study guide and a pretest to prepare for the Friday test on Quizizz. Have no fear, the economic standards repeat every unit. As long as students understand key concepts they will do well. **Direct link to digital learning page** https://mt7ss.weebly.com/digital-learning HI Everyone, I hope all is well with our PMMS family. I am sure that you know that our schools in Cobb will be closed next week and until further notice. We will be engaging in digital learning days. All of the assignments and instructions will be posted under the “Digital Learning” tab on my blog. If you have any issues please make sure that you email me at [email protected] and my office hours are from 10:30 AM- 12:00 PM. Here is an overview of next week: Monday students will be reviewing for their unit test on Tuesday by playing quizizz. Tuesday students will use the CTLS to complete the unit test. They are NOT supposed to use their notes. Wednesday students will be doing different things based on their grade from the day before. Students that received an 80% or higher they will do the enrichment assignment. If students do not get an 80% or higher there is an assignment in USA Test Prep called “SE Asia Geography Unit Test Recovery”. Thursday students will take notes on Gandhi and the Independence in India and there will be a short assessment at the end on CTLS. (I will not be available on office hours on Thursday 3/19 until I get back from the doctor at 11:30 AM.) Friday we will try a YouTube Live discussion on primary documents at 11:00 AM. Then students will add their feedback to the discussion (which can be viewed after it was live too) through CTLS. I have added some links to videos and websites to spotlight Black History under the resources tab. Some of the videos we have watched in class, others are there to explore. :) Don't miss the Black History Month play on February 27-28th! HI All,
I just want to first say thank you for keeping up with all that you do for your student. It really makes a big difference! We are one week away from winter break, so hang in there! Monday we will have a quiz over the econ standards to help us prepare for the unit test. Tuesday students will work on USA Test prep to master the econ standards before the unit test. Wednesday students will get their study guides. Thursday students will play review games-- GimKit and quizizz. Finally, students will take their unit test on Africa's economy on Friday. Here is the link for GimKit: https://tinyurl.com/sldnbpl (You have to copy and paste the link). Hi Everyone, I am sorry about the delay in communication, I have been out on bereavement and I appreciate all of you that reached out. You will notice that I have updated the grades for their quizzes and added the extra points from their USA Test Prep make up work. Also, I have added in a grade that students completed a review sheet in class. If they have a 50, that means it was either half way done or missing. I will try and get their test scores in this week that most classes took while I was out. Thanks for your patience. For this coming week we will be starting our econ unit for Africa. Monday we will enrich and remediate based on our test grades the best we can since some classes did not take the test yet. Tuesday we will take notes on Economic Systems. Wednesday there will be a short quiz and more notes on Voluntary Trade. Thursday we will apply the economic standards we have learned. And Friday we will take notes on Economic Growth in Africa and apply the concepts. Thanks again for all that you do for our school and our students! Hi All, This coming week we have a unit test on Friday. Monday we will finish our Menu Choice Board project. Tuesday we will have a quiz to prepare for our African Government unit test Friday. Wednesday we will do some enrichment and remediation based on their quiz scores for each standard and they will get the study guides. Thursday we will review with a game-- either Gim Kit or Quizizz. And Friday will be our test day! There are links on the resources page to help them study-- quizlet. Students will get the code in their class period. |
